What is Short Term Medical Insurance?

Short Term Medical (STM) Insurance helps cover you in the event of accidents or sudden illnesses. Premiums are generally much lower than individual major medical plans because there are exclusions. A health questionnaire must be completed to determine eligibility.

Policy Length

1 to 24 Months

Do Not Cover:

  1. Pre-existing conditions
  2. Preventive (Wellness) Care
  3. Pregnancy/Delivery

Lifetime Maximum:

$300,000 to $2,000,000

  1. Are you or any applicant:
    1. Now pregnant, an expectant father, in process of adoption, or undergoing infertility treatment?
    2. Over 300 pounds if male or over 250 pounds if female?
  2. Within the last 5 years has any applicant been diagnosed, treated, or taken medication for or experienced signs or symptoms of any of the following:
    1. Cancer or Tumor?
    2. Stroke
    3. Heart Disease, including heart attack, chest pain, or had heart surgery
    4. COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) or emphysema
    5. Crohn’s Disease
    6. Liver disorder
    7. Degenerative Disc disease or herniation/bulge
    8. Rheumatoid Arthritis
    9. Kidney Disorder
    10. Diabetes
    11. Degenerative Joint disease of the knee
    12. Alcohol Abuse or Chemical Dependency
    13. Neurological Disorder
  3. Within the last 5 years has any applicant been diagnosed or treated by a physician or medical practitioner for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or tested positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)?
  4. Have you been hospitalized for mental illness in the last 5 years or have you seen a psychiatrist on more than 5 times during the last 12 months?
  5. If you are not a US citizen, do you expect to legally reside in the US for the duration of the policy?
